Welcome to Functional Folk Art, featuring the artistry of Camillio Marasco. Each of Camillio's hand-crafted birdhouses are unique. Personal touches such as shaped copper and carved wood adorn each birdhouse. The roofs are made with discarded copper from the Iowa State Capital Building. The walls and base are made from recycled barnboard from local farms. The majority of the accent pieces are antiques collected from around the region. Custom birdhouses can be created, reflecting your personal taste and preferences. These birdhouses have been purchased and enjoyed by people all across the United States.

You can view these beautiful birdhouses personally on most Saturday's at the Farmer's Market on Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. If you are not local to the area and would like more information, please feel free to contact Camillio directly. More pictures of these unique works of art will be added shortly.

About the artist:

Camillio Marasco has been creating these beautiful birdhouses for over four years. Although he suffers from macular degeneration, which impairs his vision, he still creates every birdhouse by careful hand.
